• Between the kilometers 37.2 and 43.5.
• The budget of the works is estimated at 63 million euros (VAT included) and will consist of the improvement of functionality, safety and comfort for users.
• Four new structures will be projected: an upper pass, a lower pass, a walkway and a transversal drainage work.
• The feasibility of enabling BUS -VAO lanes and/or zero emission vehicles on the A-1 will be analysed.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 2.4 million euros (including VAT) for the drafting of the project for tracing and construction of the improvement of road safety and functionality of the A-1 motorway between San Agustín de Guadalix and the variant of El Molar. The performance will take place between the kilometers 37.2 and 43.5.

The planned actions, with an estimated budget of 63 million euros (VAT included) are aimed at improving functionality and the fluidity of traffic in the section; which in turn will mean an improvement in safety and comfort conditions.

Between the kilometers 37,200 and 40,200 the performances will consist of:

• Modification of the existing route to improve visibility and provide this section with better safety and comfort.
• Execution of a third lane by direction and unidirectional complementary tracks of a single lane on the margins of the motorway, until p.k. 38+500 on the right driveway and up to the P.K. 38+900 on the left road.
• Suppression of direct access from the motorway to private properties by replacing them with access from the complementary lateral tracks.

Between the kilometres 40,200 and 43,500 the performances will be as follows:

• Extension to third lane on the trunk of the motorway.
• Implementation of the following structures:
  • Upper step in the p.k. 40+830 de 2 vanos, longitud de 50 m y anchura de 12 m.
  • Lower step in the p.k. 39+380, with length of 28.80 m and width of 11.50 m.
  • Passerelle in the p.k. 37+800 de celosía metálica con 3 vanos, longitud de 47,50 m y anchura de 2,50 m.
  • Transversal drainage work in the p.k. 39+000.

In addition, the need and feasibility will be analyzed and, where appropriate, they will promote the necessary actions to provide the road with reserved or preferential use for collective public transport and for high-occupancy vehicles (Bus-VAO) or with zero emissions.

This phase, tendered by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, it is a determined commitment of the Government to lighten the traffic of the A-1, and the urban integration or adaptation to the transit of pedestrians and cyclists of the motorway passing through El Molar.
