Torrelodones prepares for the summer period with special operations for its patron saint’s parties and the activation of the Safe Holidays Plan, as discussed during the Local Security Board held today.
The session was co-chaired by the Deputy Delegate of the Government in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez; and the Mayor of Torrelodones, Almudena Negro Konrad; and was attended by representatives of the municipal government team; Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid.
In this way, the operations for the patron saint’s festivities that will take place in two moments of the summer have been outlined: the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, from July 15 to 18; and those of the Assumption of Our Lady and San Roque, from August 12 to 15.
Both appointments will be reinforced by members of the Civil Guard in collaboration with the Local Police who, in their prevention and surveillance tasks, will be assisted by drones. In addition, the City Council will establish Violeta Points with the aim of guaranteeing a festival free of male violence.
In parallel, the municipality will activate a new edition of the Safe Holidays Plan. This initiative, which celebrates its fourth consecutive year, allows neighbors and merchants to leave the keys to their homes and businesses in the custody of the Local Police during their vacation days. In addition, it promotes a series of tips and recommendations such as communicating only to the closest people the absence and form of location, leaving the keys to a trusted person to make routine visits and empty the mailboxes, or not uploading vacation plans to social networks.
Twelve points below the regional average
These summer reinforcements will contribute to maintaining the security levels of the municipality. Torrelodones closed the year 2025 with a crime rate of 43.1 points, unchanged from 2024. This figure puts the municipality 11.8 points below the average of the Community of Madrid (54.9), according to the latest Crime Balance of the Ministry of the Interior.
In the words of the Deputy Delegate of the Government “Torrelodones maintains the same crime rate as in 2025, below the average of the Community of Madrid” and has stressed that “so far in 2026 there has been an increase in police effectiveness with greater clarification of known criminal offenses due, in large part, to the increase of Civil Guard personnel”.
