- The works will begin on April 20 and it is expected that between May and August the right lane of both service roads will be cut.
- Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times with the installation of provisional stairs.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility begins the repair works of the pedestrian walkway located at kilometer 31,600 of the A-6 motorway and adjacent service roads, located in the municipality of Torrelodones (La Berzosilla).
The works have a budget of 285,735 euros and are framed in the contract of integral conservation of sector no. 03 of the province of Madrid.
Repair work begins on April 20 and is expected to be completed by the end of August. The works include:
- The replacement of the pavement of the access ramps to the pedestrian walkway along with an improvement of the drainage system.
- Replacement of the handrails of the access ramps.
- Healing and repainting of the entire structure of the pedestrian walkway.
- Conditioning of the bus stop for the installation of the roof terrace and the placement of a podotactile pavement or signalling system for visually impaired persons.
Stairs of access
In order to maintain pedestrian traffic at all times, since the planned actions on the two access ramps to the walkway involve the provisional removal of the forging, access stairs will be installed during the execution of the works.
The installation of these temporary stairs will mean that between May and August, the right lane of both service lanes of the A-6 (external lanes) will be cut, specifically from kilometer 31,300 to 31,600, in the direction A Coruña and from kilometer 31,900 to 31,500, in the direction Madrid.
During the cut, the bus stops will continue to remain operational, so the bus service provided in them will not be affected.
The repair of the walkway in the municipality of Torrelodones is part of the adjudication for the conservation of a total of 123 kilometers of roads in the province of Madrid for a value of 26.8 million euros.
The planning of the work could be altered in case of adverse weather conditions.
