Finalized the security device for the San Sebastián de los Reyes patron saint’s festivities

• During the Local Security Board co-chaired by the Subdelegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the Mayor of San Sebastián de los Reyes, Lucía Soledad Fernández Alonso.
• The festivities will be held from January 15 to 23, framing the third edition of the White Enclosures, in which it is expected to receive more influx than in the traditional August enclosures.

San Sebastián de los Reyes has finalized the security device for the patron saint’s festivities in honor of San Sebastián Mártir that will be held from January 15 to 23 and that will have a special operation for the White Bulls.

The deployment has been supervised during the Local Security Board held today and co-chaired by the Government’s sub-delegate to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez and the mayor of San Sebastián de los Reyes, Lucía Soledad Fernández Alonso. Members of the municipal government team, representatives of the National Police, Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid have participated in it.

During the meeting, the coverage of the main events and shows scheduled to ensure the safety of them and the attending public has been reviewed. The program of celebrations will include, among other events, the official proclamation, religious events such as the Main Mass and the procession of January 20; parades; day and children’s enclosures; as well as various musical and cultural activities. In this line, special attention will be paid to the roads of the old town, with the Plaza de la Constitución and the route of the enclosures as main axes, reinforcing the operational coordination on the ground between the different bodies and services.

On the other hand, the massive influx of public that will attend the various activities planned and that will travel to the locality in private vehicles, motivates the need to establish a Special Traffic Plan aimed at minimizing traffic incidents and facilitating the parking of vehicles.

Bullfighting shows

One of the main attractions will be the different bullfighting shows with cabestrada, capeas and encierros on January 17 and 18. Specifically, the third edition of the White Enclosures will have a specific operation in which Local Police, National Police, Civil Guard, volunteers and Civil Protection technicians and health professionals will participate, who will ensure the safety of runners and spectators during the 820 meters route, as well as compliance with the rules of the enclosures.

It is expected that, to the extent that at these dates they will be the only enclosures programmed at the national level, the influx of public may be even greater than what occurs during the August festivities.

The deputy delegate of the Government has thanked all those involved for their special effort and planning so that the neighbors and visitors of San Sebastián de los Reyes can enjoy these days and has highlighted the coordination between the different State Security Forces and Bodies involved in the device.
