Ensuring the integral security of people, heritage and the normal coexistence of citizens during the development of the festive programming are the objectives of the security plan that will be implemented during the Patron Saint Festivities 2026 of Fuente el Saz de Jarama.
It has been reviewed and finalized today in the Local Security Board of the municipality, which has co-chaired the Subdelegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the deputy mayor, Beatriz Sánchez García. Members of the municipal government team, representatives of the Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid have also participated.
The 2026 Patron Saint’s Festival in honor of Nuestra Señora de la Cigüeñuela will take place between August 29th and September 9th and will have as main stages the Plaza de la Villa, the adjacent streets and the sports center, where the arena of peñas will be installed. In this edition, the sessions of nocturnal DJs and both the Ntra Entrance Pilgrimage have been suspended. Mrs. Virgen de Cigüeñuela as the fireworks show on September 8 will have specific security plans, given the use of fire in both events.
In this regard, Pilar Trinidad has asked for “prudence”, given the episode of fires in the Sierra Oeste. “We’ve had one of the worst summers when it comes to fires, so it’s critical to exercise caution. Pyrotechnics must be controlled and used responsibly,” he said.
Along with the Local Police, the Civil Guard will participate in the operation, which will also be in charge of security during bullfighting shows, such as the “Toro por el campo (the Prado)” and bullfighting events developed inside the Running Room and the bullring.
Regarding the security situation of the municipality, in March 2026 it was established at 38, lower than the average of the Community of Madrid (55.2) according to the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State in March 2026.
