The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted this morning in the industrial complex of Intasa in San Sadurniño (A Coruña) the impact of the government’s PERTE to reinforce the leadership of Galicia in the timber industry. Pedro Blanco learned at first hand how these investments take shape in concrete projects together with Gonzalo Tojeiro, CEO of Intasa, with whom he visited his facilities in the company of the subdelegate in A Coruña, Julio Abalde.
Pedro Blanco stressed that Intasa received the award of 10.8 million euros from the PERTE of Decarbonization last April, in a game awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism that benefited firms based in Galicia with more than 55 M€ to develop reindustrialization processes from a vision respectful of the environment and driving new business opportunities.
With these data, the delegate highlighted the Intasa plan for the construction of a biomass waste recovery and revaluation plant within the framework of its complex in Ferrolterra, for which these funds will be allocated. Through this new infrastructure, they will take advantage of parts of their wood treatment process that were previously discarded. He highlighted this initiative as “the best representation of the Government’s industrial spirit, based on the ideas of the circular economy, eliminating waste by making use of it.”
“Business, which already represents a great incentive, are not the only positive implications of the policies of the PERTE, because with this award the Government is dynamizing the rural and creating wealth and job opportunities that fill every corner of the territory with future,” stressed the delegate, who recalled that the social commitment of the Government of Spain is protagonist in all its actions.
In the course of the visit to the facilities, Pedro Blanco stressed the reference that Intasa represents within the wood manufacturing sector in our Community and thanked his vision, “key to forming a Galicia at the industrial forefront”. It also influenced the specialization of the company and the geographical distribution of its industrial headquarters, “generating employment and economic dynamism throughout the territory of the province of A Coruña” being also present in Coristanco and As Pontes, as well as in San Sadurniño.
