Enhanced protection for children

Currently, in Madrid, 41.3% of the beneficiaries are minors, which means 82,576 children and adolescents protected by this benefit.
The Minimum Vital Income and young people
The average age of lthe beneficiaries of the IMV en Madrid is 28.50 years old, which is an important support for young people in situations of exclusion. If we exempt the holders of the IMV, the age goes down to almost 20 years, Which means a decrease in age in relation to the month of December.
In this sense, improvements have been incorporated aimed at facilitating the conditions for their access. For example, people over the age of 18 or emancipated minors with dependent sons or daughters may apply for help. And the period of independent living for young people under 30 years of age has been reduced from 3 to 2 years.
The Child Support Supplement (CAPI)
The ICSC can be perceived independently of the IMV, as it has broader income thresholds. Así, además de proteger a familias en situación de pobreza severa, alcanza a hogares con rentas bajas o moderadas. For example, it can be requested by a family of two adults and two minors with incomes of up to 3,755 euros per month, which significantly extends the scope of the child poverty protection network, reinforcing the coverage of the IMV with additional support for each dependent child.
