He has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Extremadura, is a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Extremadura and has taught at the Polytechnic School since 1985.

At the University of Extremadura he has been Assistant Director of Students and Secretary and Head of Quality at different stages in the Polytechnic School, director of the Official Gazette of the University from 1992 to 1994 and member of different collegiate government bodies. He has also been a representative of UGT on the Board of Personnel and councillor of the City of Cáceres between 2001 and 2003.

He was born in Badajoz in 1961.
