El Royal Decree 829/2023, of 20 November, restructuring ministerial departments has created the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory as a department responsible for the proposal and execution of the Government's policy in the field of territorial policy, territorial organization of the State and relations with the autonomous communities and the entities that make up the local administration.
It is also responsible for proposing and implementing the Government ' s policy on historical and democratic memory.
Through the Royal Decree 835/2023, of November 20 pursuant to articles 62.e) and 100 of the Constitution, and on the proposal of the President of the Government, Mr. Ángel Víctor Torres Pérez is appointed Minister for Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory.
As provided by the Royal Decree 273/2024, of March 19, which develops the basic organizational structure of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory , this ministry is structured in the following superior and governing bodies:
Undersecretary of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, of which
the General Technical Secretariat is responsible.
