Transportes begins the works of improvement of the firm of the A-5 as it passes through Alcorcón, Móstoles and Navalcarnero, with a budget of 15.4 million euros

  • Between kilometers 10 and 36.7 on both roads.
  • The structural rehabilitation of the lower layers of the firm and the esplanade, of the upper layers of the firm by fissuring and the improvement of the surface characteristics of the firm will be executed.
  • The action is included within the conservation and maintenance program of the State Road Network, with which the Ministry of Transport has invested 860.48 million euros since June 2018 in the province of Madrid.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is going to start Works of rehabilitation of the A-5 motorway firm, between kilometers 10 to 36.7 on both roads, in the province of Madrid, passing through the municipalities of Alcorcón, Móstoles and Navalcarnero. The works were awarded last January with a budget of 15.4 million euros.

The structural rehabilitation of the lower layers of the firm and the esplanade (singular sections), the rehabilitation of the upper layers of the firm by fissuring and the improvement of the surface characteristics of the firm will be executed.

Therefore, and to ensure the safety of workers and users, the following traffic conditions will occur during the months of July and August 2026, which may be altered in cases of unforeseen or adverse weather conditions:

      1. On the stretch between the 13.4 and 14.2 kilometers of the right driveway (with sense of Toledo) of the A-5:

      • It will occupy the right side, the right lane and part of the central lane of the right road of the A-5. This right carriageway through the left and central lane, with lane narrows, will be kept open to traffic.
      • The cut of this section will take place from 00:00 on Monday, July 6 (Sunday night) until 23:59 on Friday, August 7.
      • The incorporation branch will be closed from the link of kilometer 13 towards the A-5 direction Badajoz. The alternative route to carry out this movement will be the Avenida San Martín de Valdeiglesias until the M-50 with a southern sense until the incorporation to the A-5.

      2. On the stretch between the 24,4 and 23,5 kilometers of the left road (with sense of Madrid) of the A-5:

      • It will occupy the right side, the right lane and part of the central lane of the central left road of the A-5. The operation of the service road is maintained unchanged, and the left central driveway through the left and central lane, with lane narrows, is kept open to traffic.
      • The cut of this section will take place from 00:00 on Monday, July 13 (Sunday night) until 23:59 on Wednesday, August 26.

      3. On different sections of both roads of the A-5 between kilometers 10 and 36.7:

      • Punctual lane cuts will be made, affecting a single roadway at the same time.
      • All these cuts will be made between July 1 and August 31, from the early morning of Mondays to Fridays at noon.

      This action is included within the program of conservation and maintenance of the State Road Network, with which the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has invested 860.48 million euros since June 2018 in the province of Madrid and which generates a significant impulse to improve the quality of service of the existing state road infrastructure.

      In addition, this month the Council of Ministers authorized the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to tender an investment of 60.76 million euros (VAT not included) for the conservation and exploitation of 60.25 kilometres of the State Road Network (RCE) in the Community of Madrid with the aim of preserving different sections along more than 50 km of the A-4 and much of the route of the A-2.
