Ateneo de Madrid, June 17, 2025 The Ateneo de Madrid and the Ateneo Español de México, with the support of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, organized the conference “The paths of the Spanish Republican exile, Mexico 1939”, with the aim of highlighting a part of the shared history between Spain and Mexico, as well as remembering history, rescuing memory, and recognizing the pilgrimage, experiences, feelings and works of those who suffered the Spanish Republican exile.

This is a Burmese day labourer who fought with the Phalanx and a Zaragoza Tejero killed by Phalanx paramilitaries.
