The Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory and the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have signed a protocol to promote memorialist policies from the local level, with informative activities on the enlightened, humanist and democratic values of Masonry.

The Secretary of State for Democratic Memory has inaugurated, together with the director of Casa América, León de la Torre, and Jorge Moreno Andrés and Julián López García, curators, the exhibition “The wandering body. Spanish exile 1939-1975”. The exhibition explores the paths of memory crossed by the exile of Spanish republicans to other countries through an unprecedented heritage with great emotional link.

Fernando Martínez, Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, announced during the act of tribute to the exile that departed from the port of Cartagena, that the Government of Spain accepts the request of the delegate of the Government in the Region, Francisco Lucas, and different memory associations, to declare the city of Cartagena as a Place of Memory for its singular relevance during the war and the dictatorship.

The State Secretariat for Democratic Memory held the first meeting of the Technical Commission on Symbols and Elements Contrary to Democratic Memory, created by the Royal Decree of 20 November 2025, which establishes the procedure governing the preparation of the Catalogue of Symbols and Elements Contrary to Memory.
