Cultural Policies for the Promotion of European Democratic Memory (October 4th to 6th, 2023)
The Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sport, organizes this International Conference that will be held at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid from October 4 to 6, 2023.
The conference will focus on the importance of democratic memory in Europe since the end of the war conflicts that ravaged the continent during the 20th century, highlighting its fundamental role in preventing oblivion and preventing the repetition of tragic events.
This event, which is held within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, has as its essential objective to highlight European initiatives related to the management of cultural heritage from the perspective of memory, human rights and the commitment to "non-repetition" as an ethical imperative in a democratic European society.
