- Subscribes to the Protocol of collaboration and coordination between the State Security Forces and Local Police Forces and the Operational Procedure of Collaboration and Coordination between the Civil Guard and the Local Police of the municipality
The municipality of El Boalo-Cerceda-Matalpino is moving forward in its incorporation into the Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence, VioGén, with the signing of the “Protocol of collaboration and coordination between the State Security Forces and the Local Police Corps for the protection of victims of domestic and gender violence”, signed by the Ministry of the Interior and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces on March 13, 2006.
The signing took place at the Local Security Board held today, co-chaired by the government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of El Boalo-Cerceda-Matalpino, Soledad Ávila Ribada. The head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women, Eva Corrales Melero, as well as representatives of the Civil Guard, the Local Police and the Community of Madrid, have also attended.
In addition to the protocol of collaboration, during the meeting the Operational Procedure of Collaboration and Coordination between the Civil Guard and the Local Police of the municipality has been signed, and the Police Coordination Table has been constituted, thus advancing the necessary procedures to formalize the adhesion of the municipality to the VioGén system.
“Today we have taken an important step against male violence in the Community of Madrid. A new municipality, El Boalo-Cerceda-Mataelpino, has signed its accession to VioGén, the system that allows the most effective coordination between local police and State Security Forces and Bodies to protect victims of gender violence. A significant step towards using every instrument at our disposal to protect women,” said the government delegate.
In this regard, Francisco Martín has reiterated his desire that “the municipalities with more than eight police officers who are still waiting to join the VioGén system in Madrid do so soon”. Currently there are already 52 municipalities in Madrid that are in the VioGén system.
Based in the State Secretariat for Security of the Ministry of the Interior, VioGén was launched in July 2007, within the framework of the development of LO 1/2004, and its purpose is to allow the integration of all information available from the administration and the public authorities regarding active cases of gender violence.
