- The new points are located in the joint offices of the National Institute (INSS) and the General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS) in the districts of Carabanchel and Ciudad Lineal.

The government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Social Security and Pensions, Borja Suárez Corujo, has today inaugurated four new Violeta Social Security Points in Madrid.
In this way, the agency incorporates into its network of 183 Violeta Points two Care and Information Centers of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) and two Integral Offices of the General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS), located in the headquarters that both entities share in the Madrid districts of Carabanchel and Ciudad Lineal.
The inaugural event took place at the Violeta Point of the offices located at Calle Miguel Fleta nº3 in Madrid (Ciudad Lineal), with the assistance of the provincial director of the INSS in Madrid, Carmen López Hidalgo; the provincial director of the TGSS in Madrid, Rodrigo Mares Ramírez; and the head of the Coordination Unit Against Violence on Women of the Government Delegation in Madrid, Eva Corrales Melero.
After a previous meeting in which they have been able to address the main points of institutional collaboration, the activation and presentation of this new safe space has been proceeded, which, from today, will offer women victims of violence who require it basic information on the different specialized resources made available to them
The delegate of the Government has assured that “the Government of Spain remains fully committed to continue advancing in the field of equality and today we take an important step to continue fighting against the greatest threat of that equality that is male violence. In these facilities of the Social Security we constitute a new extension of the network of Violeta Points in Madrid because, as you know, we are working so that all the offices of the General Administration of the State become Violeta Points and, therefore, in safe spaces.” In this line, the delegate has invited “the other administrations to also become safe spaces”.
For his part, the Secretary of State explained that “four new Violet Points have been launched for the protection of women threatened by gender violence. With this, Social Security wants to show a commitment that has been strong for a long time.”
In compliance with the commitments made through the signing of the corresponding protocols with the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, the Government Delegation in Madrid has provided the necessary graphic material for the identification of these points and has been responsible for the basic training of the agency's staff in the prevention of violence against women. This training was given on February 11 with the participation of 80 attendees.
With the activation of the four new points to the 183 already operational, Social Security has a total of 187 Violeta Points, distributed in the offices of the INSS, TGSS and Social Institute of the Navy throughout the national territory
Violeta Points
The Violet Point is an instrument to involve the whole of society in the fight against male violence. The objective is to spread, in a massive way, the information necessary to know how to act in a case of violence against women. This instrument places male violence as a structural problem that requires the involvement of society as a whole to put an end to it. Through different tools, it seeks to bring information about integral services closer to where the victims are.
