- Within the framework of the common commitment against male violence through the extension of the Violeta Points network to twenty AEAT offices in the region.
- The implementation of these safe spaces responds to the objective of the Government of Spain to involve the whole society in the fight against gender violence.
The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has today inaugurated the Violeta Points implemented by the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) in Madrid.
The inaugural event took place at the Violeta Point located in the public service office of Montalbán Street, nº6 in Madrid, one of the twenty safe spaces that the public body in the region will have.
Accompanied by the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in Madrid, Eva Corrales Melero, the delegate has been received by the special delegate of Madrid of the AEAT, Rafael Mancho Rojo, and the head of the Regional Unit of Institutional Relations of the Special Delegation of Madrid, Jesús Manuel Andradas Heranz.
In this way, both entities materialize the commitments acquired in the protocol of accession of the AEAT to the network of Violeta Points. After a previous meeting in which they have been able to address the main points of the collaboration, the space set up in the Special Delegation of Madrid has been visited, which, from today, will offer women victims of violence who require it basic information on the different specialized resources made available to them.
“We continue to expand the Violeta Points in the region, safe spaces to respond to those people who need information, attention or who require visibility of this structural problem to which we have to respond among all. From this moment, we open twenty secure spaces in the offices of the Tax Agency throughout the region. We continue as with Social Security, with the universities of Madrid, or with all those spaces authorized in different public administrations, with that opportunity to provide a better service and to stop male violence among all,” said the government delegate.
For his part, Rafael Mancho Rojo commented that “the management of the Tax Agency has been clear about the need to incorporate the organization into the network of Violeta Points. In the case of Madrid, our twenty public service offices are incorporated into this mechanism. We have received support from the Delegation for the training of staff, who are also volunteers. In addition to adhering to the ordinary mechanism, we also bring our added value with specialization in the fiscal field.”
In total, the AEAT will have twenty safe spaces in the Community of Madrid located in the public service offices of Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Aranjuez, Arganda, Colmenar Viejo, El Escorial, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Leganés, Móstoles, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid Suroeste, Montalbán, Madrid Norte, María de Molina, Madrid Este and Madrid Este-Bsan.
The Government delegation has provided the necessary graphic material for the identification of these points and has been responsible for the basic training of the agency ' s personnel in the prevention of violence against women. This training was given on February 11 at the headquarters of the Government Delegation in Madrid with the participation of 80 attendees.
Violeta Points
The Violet Point is an instrument to involve the whole of society in the fight against male violence. The objective is to spread, in a massive way, the information necessary to know how to act in a case of violence against women. This instrument places male violence as a structural problem that requires the involvement of society as a whole to put an end to it. Through different tools, it seeks to bring information about integral services closer to where the victims are.
