Pedro Viera Espinosa

Graduated in Chemical Sciences from the University of La Laguna, with his experience as a career officer of the body of Secondary School Teachers, he has demonstrated his commitment to education, playing the role of Secondary School Teacher in the specialty of Physics and Chemistry. His training in the educational field earned him the accreditation for the exercise of the leadership role in the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Throughout his career, he has held various positions of responsibility as coordinator in the Island Directorate of Education of Lanzarote, vice-director and head of studies in different educational centers. Its commitment to the continuous improvement of the educational system has been recognized at various levels.

In addition, between 1999 and 2003 he was a member of the Social Council of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, representing the social interests of the most representative trade union organizations.

In the political sphere, he has played roles as deputy spokesman for the Socialist parliamentary group in 2019 and 2023. He has also been spokesperson for the socialist municipal group in the City of Arrecife during the periods 2011-2015.
