It is composed of an equal number of representatives of both parties and performs information, coordination, planning and collaboration functions, in relation to the exercise of the respective competences; deliberation and proposal on the elaboration of legislative projects of the State that uniquely affect Castilla y León; prevention and extraprocedural resolution of conflicts of competences and any others that promote cooperation between the two parties.
The Cooperation Commission was established on 10 July 2008.
At the second meeting held on November 24, 2010, the Regulations on the Organization and Functioning of the Commission for Cooperation between the Community of Castilla y León and the State have been approved, creating four Permanent Subcommissions:
- Subcommittee on Normative Follow-up, Prevention and Resolution of Reservations
- Subcommittee on Infrastructure
- Subcommittee on Statutory Development
- Subcommittee on European Affairs and External Action
