The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has today presided over a multilateral meeting in which representatives of the City of Madrid, the Superior Police Headquarters and neighbors of San Blas-Canillejas have addressed the need to establish a Comprehensive Plan to respond to the needs of the district, in particular, those related to the environment of El Paraíso Park.
During the meeting, the current scenario has been analyzed, what are the problems, the latest events and challenges to face. In this context, a comprehensive approach has been proposed that includes actions in the health, social and management fields to reinforce the police action developed in recent months. In addition, new ways have been proposed to strengthen coordination between administrations, security forces and neighbours in order to act jointly.
At the end of the meeting, Martín Aguirre expressed the commitment to the security of the Government of Spain by announcing the deployment of police reinforcement in the area. However, he insisted on the importance of a comprehensive and joint action “to improve living conditions in this environment and facilitate a higher quality of life for neighbors. In this regard, he pointed out that “those who prescribe only police action are deeply mistaken, since it is a simplistic and not responsible response. On the contrary, complex problems require multi-competence solutions provided by all administrations.”
“We know that there is a complex situation that has expressions of insecurity, but that is the result of failures in the socio-sanitary field. Therefore, it is essential that all administrations are able to work together to build consensual solutions that complement, of course, the total commitment to security of the Government of Spain, but also work in the health, social, health, cleaning and management area” he added.
Along with the delegate of the Government, the head of its Technical Cabinet, Fernando Estarán Manzano; the Superior Chief of Police of Madrid, Javier Galván Ruiz; the Commissioner of the District of San Blas-Canillejas, José David Molano Margallo; the councillor-president of the District of San Blas-Canillejas, Almudena Maíllo del Valle; the President of the Regional Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Madrid (FRAVM), Jorge Nacarino Morales and representatives of San.
Among the commitments made, the attendees have agreed to deliver the requested information and meet again within a month.
Finally, the meeting was held in the absence of the Community of Madrid, whose regional government rejected their participation yesterday by letter. This decision has been described by the government delegate as a “mistake”. “For more than three years I have been calling for the establishment of tripartite tables in this region to address social emergencies. This meeting will not be possible because the Community of Madrid has refused to participate in it.”
