More than 650 National Police personnel participate in the special device of the patron saint’s parties of San Sebastián de los Reyes

• The government delegate in the Community of Madrid has supervised the operation activated for the lock-ups, one of the main claims of the patron saint’s parties.
• Accompanied by the Superior Chief of Police of Madrid, Javier Galván Ruiz, and the Commissioner of San Sebastián de los Reyes/Alcobendas, Manuel de los Ríos – Zarzosa Saco del Valle.
• The reinforcement of agents in the Madrid locality is deployed in permanent coordination with Local Police, Civil Protection and emergency services.

The Government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has today supervised the security device of the San Sebastián de los Reyes lock-ups in the framework of their patron saint’s parties that have the deployment of more than 650 National Police personnel.

On arrival in the municipality, accompanied by the Superior Chief of Police of Madrid, Javier Galván Ruiz and the Commissioner of San Sebastián de los Reyes/Alcobendas, Manuel de los Ríos – Zarzosa Saco del Valle, he has walked the route of the closure to the command post where he has analyzed the details of the operation together with the responsible commanders.

Before the start of the race, Martín Aguirre has attended the traditional placement of the painting of the Christ of Remedies to which the runners are entrusted, carried on this occasion by the members of the San Sebastián de los Reyes Sports Union. Later, he has followed the development of the race live from the command post with the mayor of the town, Lucía Soledad Fernández Alonso.

During the visit, Martín Aguirre stressed the importance of prior planning and interinstitutional coordination so that the festivities take place without incident. He also wanted to highlight the work “of the National Police officers who carry out extraordinary work to guarantee security in important festivities such as San Sebastián de los Reyes”. This gratitude has been extended to all the State Security Forces and Bodies that “protect and guarantee security in the set of celebrations in our region throughout the summer, beyond continuing to work for the security of the people of Madrid in their day to day during the 365 days of the year”.

The deployment of the National Police in San Sebastián de los Reyes during its patron saint’s festivities involves the presence of 650 officers, with 50 officers for each day of confinement, and includes specialized units such as the Police Intervention Unit (UIP), the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) and Cavalry. The device also has the support of the Air Unit to strengthen the surveillance and response capabilities during the days of greatest influx. These personnel operate in permanent coordination with the Municipal Police, Civil Protection, health services, private security and the various municipal services to ensure the safety of neighbors, visitors and runners.
