The government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of Arganda del Rey, Alberto Escribano García, co-chaired today the Local Security Board to coordinate the operation of the electronic music festival "A Summer Story" to be held on June 19 and 20.
Representatives of the Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection, the local government team and the Community of Madrid, together with the promoter Disorder Events, participated in this meeting held in the offices of the Local Police Station. It has finalized the details of the operation planned to ensure the normal development of this massive festival that, in its tenth edition in the City of Rock, expects an attendance of 42,000 people.
Likewise, the Board has allowed progress to be made in the needs and security measures for the Patron Saint’s Festivities of 2026, which will take place in the second week of September. Among other points, it has dealt with surveillance in areas of great influx such as the fairgrounds and the bullring, in addition to the supervision of pyrotechnic shows and bullfighting celebrations.
New quartering and expansion of templates
During the session, the security indicators of the municipality have also been analyzed. In 2025, Arganda del Rey recorded a crime rate of 47.5, which represents a decrease of 3.1 points compared to 2024 and places the municipality below the average of the Community of Madrid (54.9), according to data from the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State.
The government delegate highlighted the positive evolution and coordination between the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Arganda del Rey: “As a result of this collaboration, Arganda is increasingly a safer city, below the average crime rate in the Madrid Community.” In this line, he reaffirmed “the commitment of the Government of Spain to the security of the region and of the Argandeños and Argandeñas as a result of the extraordinary work of the Civil Guard that, soon, will open a new quartering here and also with the expansion of staffs in which we are working”.
Finally, Martín Aguirre insisted that “the municipality has not been a single day without a single civil guard” and reaffirmed “the permanent and continuous presence and the good results of the work that the Civil Guard is developing in Arganda del Rey and in the Community of Madrid as a whole”.
