Hector Alaiz Moreton
Héctor Alaiz Moretón, Outstanding Doctor Cum Laude, Full Professor of University in the Area of Systems Engineering and Automation of the University of León and expert in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, has 20 years of experience in teaching and research. He is an Engineer in Computer Science and holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Process Control, Industrial Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Oviedo. He completed his end-of-career work at the Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland), focusing on the development of innovative technology solutions, which marked the beginning of his international career in research. He has led key projects in cybersecurity, 5G technologies and the Internet of Things, excelling as director of the RIASC (Research Institute of Applied Sciences in Cybersecurity) and as head of Huawei's Cyber Security Experience Center at ULE. He has published 50 articles in indexed journals, directed six doctoral theses and has several intellectual property registers, three of them in operation. He has participated in more than 60 national and international scientific congresses. In addition, he has managed Erasmus programs, contributed to educational innovation with recognized projects, and was chairman of the Research Teaching Staff Enterprise Committee. He has also played roles in university management and is principal researcher of the SECOMUCI group, focused on security and knowledge in the cyberworld.
