The workers of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, headed by the subdelegate, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, have observed a minute of silence to condemn the latest confirmed murders for alleged gender violence in Navarre and for alleged vicarious violence in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
In the case of Navarre, this is a 28-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her partner on February 20. The victim had four minor children and there were no previous reports of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
Regarding the minor killed by vicarious violence, the 10-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his father in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Friday, February 20. There were no previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
With the confirmation of this case, the number of women killed by gender violence amounts to 10 in 2026 and to 1,353 since 2003, when these data began to be collected. The number of minors orphaned by gender violence in Spain would rise to 10 in 2026 and to 514 since 2013. The number of underage people killed by gender violence in Spain would rise to 2 in 2026 and 67 since 2013.
