The Administration near you, LACT
LACT is a service of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, in charge of the Delegations and Subdelegations of the Government and the Island Directorates.
LACT was born in November 2022 with the aim of bringing the services of the General State Administration (AGE) closer to the citizens residing in municipalities that do not have physical headquarters of the AGE. Although in the beginning LACT’s movements focused on providing information and procedures for the services of the Government Delegations, as well as facilitating the obtaining of the means of identification and electronic signature, today it seeks to be a comprehensive service incorporating for this purpose other services of the AGE; thus, currently, LACT also offers information and procedures of the State Public Employment Service, the National Institute of Social Security, the General Treasury of Social Security and the General Directorate of Traffic.
Beyond the fact that LACT mainly moves to facilities provided by municipalities, the usefulness of the service for certain groups has also led it to move to other locations or headquarters, such as educational centers, cultural centers, nursing homes, associations linked to the care and support of migrants, small business associations, agricultural cooperatives, military bases or penitentiary centers, among others.
Since its launch, LACT has held 7,731 sessions attended by 94,876 people; more than 550 sessions have been held in educational centers and venues of different groups.
Likewise, LACT has helped to obtain more than 72,532 FNMT and cl@ve certificates. (*)
The involvement of municipalities and civil society is fundamental for the consolidation of this service; therefore, the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory encourages the accession of municipalities to the Collaboration Agreement signed with the FEMP on November 17, 2022, as well as the signing of collaboration protocols with different entities, such as the one recently signed with the Fundación Secretariado Gitano.
LACT is ultimately a proximity service that reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory to a proactive administration that is committed to a new way of providing public services: with LACT we leave public buildings to get closer to people.
