The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, presided this morning in the Subdelegation of the Government the security board to coordinate the device on the occasion of the celebration of the VIII Marine Rally Lucense, which will take place on May 8, 9 and 10.
During the meeting, the organizational details of a race that will be the third round of the Galician Asphalt Rally Championship 2026 and that will have a total route of 365.41 kilometers were analyzed, of which 105.09 will be timed. The rally is structured in three different stretches, all of them the triple pass.
The subdelegate stressed the importance of “guaranteeing maximum security for both participants and the attending public”, while highlighting “the collaboration and coordination between all the administrations and agencies involved, key to the good development of an event of this nature”.
In this regard, the need to respect the indications of the security forces and bodies, as well as the signage established along the route, was insisted on, with the aim of avoiding risks and ensuring the correct development of the test.
The base of the competition will be located in the municipality of Viveiro, and the route will also run through the municipalities of O Vicedo, Ciervo, Xove and Burela, which requires special coordination between administrations and security forces.
Representatives of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, National Police, Civil Guard, Traffic Subsector, Provincial Council, municipalities involved, organization of the test (MixRallySports Squad), Fire Consortium and the Lucense Federation of Civil Protection Volunteer Groups participated in the meeting.
The special security device will have a coordinated deployment of troops throughout the route, with special attention to the points of greatest public influx.
