The Chairs of Democratic Memory are the result of the collaboration between the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory and the Spanish public universities. Conceived as spaces for research, training, dissemination and knowledge transfer, they aim to promote the study of democratic memory from a rigorous academic perspective and committed to constitutional values, human rights and democratic culture. Through their activities, they contribute to deepening historical knowledge, promoting the recognition and dignity of victims and bringing these contents closer to the citizens as a whole, strengthening the role of the university as an agent of critical reflection and public service.
