The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, gave 74 cards of “cyberexperts” this morning to the students of 6th grade of primary school Luis Pimentel de Lugo, in an event also attended by the trainers of the National Police, Rubén Darío Veiga and Iván García and the chief inspector and head of the Citizen Security section, Sonia Aparicio. The subdelegate highlighted the Government’s commitment to digital classroom training to prevent cyberbullying, technology and access to inappropriate content through new platforms.
In the acts of delivery of the cards, he congratulated all the students for their interest in this learning, as well as the trainers of the National Police “for their effort to bring resources and learning to the schoolchildren.” The assistant delegate also had words for the management team, whom she thanked “for their interest and receptiveness to facilitate that these resources reach their students.”
Olimpia López added that “the beneficiaries are the children who receive the training, but indirectly benefit the educational and family environment, and society as a whole.”
National Police officers worked with schoolchildren on issues such as safe navigation, online and offline privacy management, responsible use of social media, and risk prevention of Relationship, Information, and Communication Technologies (TRIC). “The digital security of children and youth is a collective challenge, and the Government of Spain is committed to training new generations in the safe use of the Internet and social networks,” said the deputy delegate.
During 2026, the National Police plans to deliver up to 700 “cyber expert” cards in the city of Lugo. “This program demonstrates that prevention and training are the best tools to protect children in the digital environment,” López concluded.
