The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, co-presidiu today with the Mayor of Láncara, Darío Piñeiro, the constitution of the Local Security Commission of the city, a coordination body between administrations and security forces to analyze the situation of citizen security and strengthen institutional collaboration.
During the meeting, the main safety data in the municipality were analyzed, which present a positive evolution. The crime rate in Láncara stood at 12.05% in 2025, a figure lower than the average for the province of Lugo, Galicia and the State as a whole. In addition, the data show a reduction in crime compared to the previous year.
The meeting also highlighted the preventive work carried out by the Civil Guard through the Master Plan for the coexistence and advancement of school security. In this context, during the academic year 2025/2026, 14 training activities were given in the municipal educational centers on issues such as bullying, cyberbullying, addictions, male violence, hate crimes or road safety.
The Local Security Commission is thus constituted as a stable space for institutional cooperation to continue advancing in crime prevention, in the protection of citizens and in the advancement of coexistence in Lancara.
