- The works will be developed between the kilometers 3,71 and 30,53 of the left causeway (direction Madrid), including service roads and links.
- In the municipal terms of Madrid, Leganés, Getafe, Fuenlabrada, Parla, Torrejón de la Calzada, Cubas de la Sagra and Casarrubuelos.
- The structural and surface condition of the firm will be improved to increase road safety, circulation comfort and durability of the infrastructure.
- The action falls within the framework of the Extraordinary Plan for the Improvement of Firmness presented by Minister Óscar Puente, and which will generate a significant impulse to improve the quality of the service provided by the State’s road infrastructures.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has litigated for an amount of 14.3 million euros (VAT included) the works of rehabilitation of the firm of the A-42 Motorway, on the left road (direction Madrid) and its service roads and links, between kilometers 3.71 and 30.53, as it passed through 8 municipal terms of the Community of Madrid. The corresponding tender notice will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The works of rehabilitation of the firm of the A-42 will be developed in the municipal terms of Madrid, Leganés, Getafe, Fuenlabrada, Parla, Torrejón de la Calzada, Cubas de la Sagra and Casarrubuelos.
The works, which will run for about 26.8 kilometres, are intended to consist of a combination of structural and surface interventions that will make it possible to recover the functional conditions of the track, prolong its useful life and improve the conditions of circulation and safety for users.
Among the main works planned, the following stand out:
- Milling and replacement of the existing firm in different sections of the main trunk, service paths and links, adapting the thicknesses to the degree of existing deterioration. In localized sections of 50 m along the slow lane of circulation, the previous healing of 80 cm of esplanade will be additionally performed.
- Extended from a new rolling layer on the whole trunk and service tracks.
- On the factory building boards, the entire thickness of bituminous mixture will be milled, waterproofed by bituminous mortar and the thickness of firm will be replaced.
- Execution of new coated ditches and drains to improve the hydraulic behavior of certain sections of the Parla variant.
- Renewal of horizontal signage and replacement of beaconing elements affected by the works.
This performance is part of the Extraordinary Plan for the Improvement of the Firm of the State Road Network, presented by Minister Óscar Puente at the College of Engineers of Roads, Channels and Ports and which generates a significant impulse to improve the quality of service of the existing state road infrastructure.
This plan is in addition to the investment effort in the conservation and maintenance program of the State Road Network, in which the Ministry of Transport has invested 884.24 million euros since June 2018 in the province of Madrid.
