During the meeting, the main statistics on sexual violence in the region were analyzed. Fademur also recalled the data of a study he prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Equality, which revealed that women victims of gender violence in the rural areas studied remain in abusive relationships an average of twenty years before putting an end to the situation. Factors such as geographical isolation, reduced institutional presence, difficulty of movement and an often inadequate social support network contribute to this, making it difficult to detect, report and care for victims.

The meeting with Fademur is part of the meetings promoted since 2024 by the government delegate with the aim of strengthening institutional and multisectoral collaboration in the face of the problem of sexual violence. During 2025, more than 25 meetings were held with representatives of institutions, professional associations, business associations, professional organizations, trade unions, political formations, expert profiles in different fields, as well as specialized units of the National Police (UFAM) and Civil Guard (EMUME).
