Valencian Community

The Generalitat Valenciana-State Bilateral Commission was established on February 21, 2019 and succeeds the Commission on July 10, 2000.

It is composed of five members from each party and can attend meetings held by other ministerial departments depending on the topics to be dealt with. The presidency of the Commission is exercised by the State Administration or by the Autonomous Community in an alternative way. Each representation will be assisted by a Secretary.

Its functions are those foreseen in the operating rules approved on February 21, 2019:

Promote the implementation of joint actions and plans for the development of common policies and, where appropriate, sign the appropriate collaboration agreements.
Design mechanisms for mutual collaboration in the different areas where the activity of both administrations can converge.
Serve as an instrument to prevent conflicts between both administrations.
To arbitrate proposals for solutions to issues that are of interest to both parties in matters within their competence.
To examine any matters that affect both parties and, in particular, those that aim to avoid or attempt to resolve conflicts of competence through extra-procedural means.
