IMI coordinators
The final authorities are the raison d'être of the IMI system. They are the calls to participate more actively in the system, exchanging information, queries, etc. to carry out the necessary administrative cooperation between the EMMs.
Alongside them are various IMI coordinators who support the final authorities. They perform essential work both to ensure the construction, training and maintenance of the network of authorities, and to provide greater specialization in cases that require intervention (such as differences of opinion with other states, treatment of alerts, etc. ).
In Spain, in addition to the mandatory national coordinator (NIMIC), 'thematic' coordinators have been appointed for each directive of the General Administration of the State, and 'global' coordinators for each of the CCAA and cities with autonomous status authorized for all directives.

Within IMI, the SOLVIT database is also located, which is a service at European level that helps citizens and companies to exercise their rights in the internal market by solving their specific problems with public bodies. In Spain, this database is managed by the SOLVIT-ES centre, which reports directly to the European Commission.
