For the State Demonstration on July 4, the central event of the festivities, more than 700 agents will be mobilized.
The government delegate recalled that the MADA is the most multitudinous event that the city hosts.
The delegate of the Government in Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, presided this morning the Security Board in which the security device for the celebration of the State Pride Rally LGTBI+ 2026, which will take place on Saturday, July 4.
In total, the reinforcement of the National Police for the days of Pride amounts to more than 3,300 agents and, specifically, for the demonstration, more than 700 national police will be mobilized from: the Police Intervention Unit, Protection and Reaction Unit, Mobile Brigade, Cavalry, Subsoil, Canine Guides. To them will be added helicopters of the Air Unit of the National Police and equipment of drones and contradrones to neutralize those that were not authorized.
Francisco Martín stressed that, after the visit of the Pope, whose management was “so extraordinary”, the MADA is the most multitudinous event in the region and, as usual, all the necessary resources will be put in place so that everything goes “as well as always”, and to make this day “one of the most beautiful” of the year.
It has also encouraged attendees to report, in the event of being victims or witnessing behaviour that may constitute a hate crime, the number of which has increased.
For their part, the organizing entities wanted to thank the Government Delegation, the Security Forces and the emergency services for their work to make the Pride a safe demonstration.
Sharing of devices
The meeting was attended by: representatives of the convening and organizing associations of the MADA Madrid Pride — COGAM (LGTB Collective of Madrid), FELGTBI+ (State Federation of Lesbians, Gay, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersexuals and more) and (Association of Companies and Professionals for LGBT of the Community of Madrid); of National Police, Municipal Police, Renfe, SAMUR, Mobility Agents, Firefighters, Regional Transport Consortium, Renfe, Municipal Transport Company and Madrid. The Government Delegation also included the head of the Citizen Security Unit, Javier Robles.
The walking demonstration and the float parade will take place on July 4, under the motto "To the streets with pride! Dissidence and resistance"", between the Glorieta de Atocha and the Plaza de Colón, from 19:00 hours. Between 47 and 52 floats will participate and the forecast is that around one million people will attend.
The device includes the reinforcement or possible closure in the Metro and Renfe stations at peak times due to the accumulation of passengers inside and outside that hinder transit, with the consequent risk for safety, and the reinforcement of intercity bus night lines.
