- Provide advice to the Council of Official Languages in the General Administration of the State and carry out the tasks assigned to it for this purpose.
- Prepare studies and technical diagnostic reports on the use of official languages in the General Administration of the State and its public bodies, on its own initiative or when requested.
- To act as a permanent body for the collection, analysis and exchange of quantitative and qualitative information available in different national and international sources on the use of official languages.
- To monitor annually the degree of compliance with the use of official languages by the General Administration of the State and its public bodies.
- Promote, disseminate and distribute research, surveys, studies and publications related to the official languages.
- Promote the development of translation and interpretation work to achieve the proposed objectives, with the possibility of proposing agreements with the autonomous communities with more than one official language.
