The deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, highlighted the commitment of the Government of Spain to the advancement of the infrastructure of Ourense, as shown by the emergency repair of the road on the N-525. It did so during the monitoring of the progress of the Special Plan of Repair and Conservation of State Roads in Galicia, in Gustei, Coles.
During the verification of the execution of the work, the subdelegate explained that the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility invests 38 million euros in emergency works of rehabilitation of firmes in the State Road Network in Galicia, of which 9 million euros are destined to the province of Ourense. “This investment effort is aimed at repairing the damage caused by the blackouts and storms recorded in December, January and February,” he explained.
Eladio Santos specified that the State Roads Unit in Ourense is developing these actions on about 450 kilometers of roads. "It is a hard and complete job that is modernizing the state road network, with special attention to the points that present the greatest wear and tear, and the results can already be verified," he said.
In this regard, the subdelegate recalled that road safety is an absolute priority for the Government of Spain. "When there is an emergency, rapid response is essential and more so when it comes to infrastructure essential for the province's mobility," he said.
Likewise, Eladio Santos thanked the work of the technicians of the State Roads Unit in Ourense, who located the deteriorated points to design this plan, and the work of the company awarded the emergency contract of this stretch of the N-525, Taboada and Ramos, which is using about 6,000 tons of asphalt to cover the road from the city of Ourense and up to kilometer 271, on the border of the province.

To these interventions are added the emergency works for the rehabilitation of the firm of the N-120 that were awarded at the beginning of this year and had to stop at the borrascas, but they were already taken up in the sections that run between kilometric points 472+800 and 540+200; 439+900 to 472+800; from this to 500+000, and from there to 540+400.
