The Distinction of Merit for Public Service in the Territory recognizes and makes visible the exemplary work of the personnel and units of the General Administration of the State in the territory, highlighting their exceptional contribution to the improvement of public services and the effective implementation of public policies of special sensitivity. It rewards commitment and professional trajectory, exceptional dedication in high-demand contexts, innovation in management and special involvement in initiatives that benefit citizens and in the effective functioning of Government Delegations, Government Subdelegations and Island Directorates. This recognition makes the merit visible where a committed Administration is produced and projected and oriented to excellence in the public service.
