The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, visited this morning the headquarters of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) to follow the last special device of the summer, which will be active between 15 hours today Friday and midnight next Monday, August 31.
The General Directorate of Traffic estimates that during the more than three days included in the return operation of vacation approximately 1.2 million vehicles will transit through the roads of the region (6.9 million at the state level), and although a staggered return is expected, the coincidence with the departure of those who start their vacation in September can complicate the situation.
Martín has made the traditional visit to the screen room, from where the tasks of real-time surveillance, incident management and information to drivers are carried out. There he has called for the prudence of those who have to take the car on these dates, planning the trip well and starting it in the best possible conditions, in addition to avoiding distractions. He also recalled that the DGT and the Civil Guard are going to allocate all the resources “to ensure that this return is safe”.
