The Alamo prepares for its patron saint’s festivities with a specific security device to ensure neighbors and visitors enjoy their celebration without incident.
The device has been coordinated today in the Local Security Board co-chaired by the Government’s sub-delegate to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez; and the mayor of El Alamo, Alberto Cabezas Ortega. The meeting was also attended by members of the municipal government team; representatives of Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid.
The patronal festivities in honor of the Most Holy Christ of Health will take place from August 31 to August 6, although the municipality will have activities of “preferestas” and since the opening of houses on Friday 28. The central days will see the deployment of a reinforcement of Civil Guard agents who will work in a coordinated manner with the Local Police forces and the Civil Protection services. In addition, there will be timely support for private surveillance.
With varied programming for all audiences, in terms of security the planned device will pay special attention both to night events and to traditional bullfighting celebrations.
Commitment to citizen security
On the other hand, the appointment has also reaffirmed the institutional commitment to citizen security and prevention and collaboration between government, municipality and security bodies to face both daily challenges and extraordinary events in the municipality.
In this context, the security situation has been assessed. Although the Alamo has experienced a slight increase in crime in the first half of the year, mainly due to the increase in cybercrime; police effectiveness has doubled and the crime rate has not changed, remaining more than 20 points below the regional average, according to the Secretary of State’s Crime Balance of March 2026.
Recognition of collaboration in the fires
Finally, during Question and Prayer Time, the subdelegate wanted to thank El Álamo for the willingness and commitment shown during the emergency caused by the fires last July in the Community of Madrid; and she highlighted the “excellent disposition of the municipality with means and resources and the extraordinary work of Civil Protection”.
