Alcorcón celebrated today the “most important Local Security Board of the year” in which the Security and Emergency Plan of the Patron Festivities 2026 and the security devices of the different services and bodies have been coordinated.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, wanted to highlight the “maximum commitment” of the City of Alcorcón to security in general and, with the security of women in particular, and highlighted his willingness to collaborate to develop, from the local perspective, measures that contribute to reducing crimes related to sexual violence against women, whose number of complaints has been increasing in the region.
The security situation
Members of the Government team, the National Police, the Civil Guard, the Local Police, Civil Protection, Firefighters, the Red Cross and the Community of Madrid have participated in the Board, and the security situation in the municipality has also been addressed.
In this regard, the government delegate stressed that the staff of the National Police in Alcorcón has been strengthened with 16 more officers, in the same line that has been followed in the rest of the region and that has allowed us to reach record numbers of officers (15% more in the case of the National Police).
Likewise, he recalled that, despite the slight upturn in crime in 2025, Alcorcón remains eleven points below the average crime rate in the Community of Madrid, which allows us to continue claiming that it is an “extremely safe” locality within a region that is in record lows of crime.
