The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of Guadalix de la Sierra, Borja Álvarez González, co-chaired today the Local Security Board in which the joint device to guarantee security during the patron saint’s holidays has been coordinated.
The municipality will celebrate its festivities in honor of the Virgen del Espinar from September 7 to 14, although with previous activities since three days before. The central days will start officially with the children’s rock parade and the proclamation, giving way to a varied program that includes concerts, religious events and traditional burials.
The meeting has made it possible to analyze the needs of the festive programming and allocate the resources to ensure its normal development. To this end, the operation will have the reinforcement of Civil Guard agents who will work in close collaboration with the Local Police, Civil Protection and emergency services.
“We are going to make every effort to ensure that the next festivities are a success and that all the residents of Guadalix can enjoy them in the security conditions that we undoubtedly want,” said the government delegate, making available to the City Council “all the support of the Government of Spain and the Civil Guard.”
Crime rate 22 points below the regional average
During the session, the general security situation in the municipality has also been evaluated. In this regard, the latest indicators confirm that Guadalix de la Sierra maintains a crime rate well below the average in the Community of Madrid, consolidating itself as a safe environment.
“It is one of the safest municipalities in the Community of Madrid, more than 22 points lower in its crime rate than the average in the Community of Madrid, which is also the lowest in the history of our region. It is the result of an extraordinary sustained work, very intense on the part of the City of Guadalix de la Sierra, led by its mayor, but also of the professionals of the Local Police and Civil Protection of the municipality who carry out an essential work and that is a reference within the region”, said Martín Aguirre.
First year of the Local Security Board
On September 4, the first year of the constitution of the Local Security Board of Guadalix de la Sierra will be celebrated, a key body to strengthen the cooperation and operational coordination of the Security Forces and Bodies that intervene in its municipal term.
