The Social Security registered in the Community of Madrid a figure of 3,843,181 contributors last January, according to data published today by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration. These figures represent a stabilization since the 3,860,355 recorded in the data of December last year. In terms Year-on-year, the region has an increase of 2.8% in Social Security membership, with a total of 104,881 more troops.
Of all the members of the Social Security in the Community of Madrid, 3,402,496 belong to the General Regime, 438,706 are autonomous, 3,693 are registered in the Regime of the Sea and do not have any contributor in the Coal Regime. Likewise, 2,002 are registered in the agricultural sector and 92,047 in the household services sector.
Data at the national level
The Spanish labor market has grown by almost 480,000 members of the Social Security in the last twelve months, specifically, 477,818 in the original series, to a total of 21,573,632. This is an increase of 2.3% year-on-year and the highest level in a month of January in the whole series.
Compared to December, a decline of 1.2% has been marked, in line with other months of January. This is traditionally a negative month in the labor market, an effect that this year has been aggravated by having a particularly adverse climate. In particular, it has decreased by 270,782 affiliates.
If the seasonal component and the calendar effect are discounted, 17,311 more members have registered in the last month alone, reaching a total of 21,885,039, the highest level of the historical series. There are about 2.1 million members since before the labor reform.
“Thanks to significant year-on-year growth, the month of January ends with more workers in the series. We have to look carefully at the seasonally adjusted data, and we see that the performance of the labour market remains very strong. We are the economy that grows the most in our environment and an engine of job creation in Europe”, said the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz.
The number of women affiliated to the Social Security continues in historically high figures for one month of January, with an average of 10,211,265. There are 235,397 employed more than a year ago; while there are 242,420 participants more than a year ago, which adds a total of 11,362,366 male workers. The improvement in the employment of women is +16.3% since the year before the labor reform, 3.2 percentage points higher than that of men.
