· The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor, Francisco Javier Ayala, have co-chaired the meeting.
· Fuenlabrada continues to lead the way in the ranking of cities with more than 100,000 safer inhabitants of Spain.
· Francisco Martín has asked the Consistory to count on its collaboration in the implementation of the measures and recommendations included in the Plan of Action against sexual violence in the Community of Madrid 2026-2027 of the Government Delegation in Madrid.
The Local Security Board of the City of Fuenlabrada has met this morning to finalize the special operation for the Patron Festivities of the municipality that includes security, control and prevention measures, aimed at guaranteeing citizen security during the planned events.
These will be extended from September 5 to 18, with specific devices in the settings of the most important events of the programming such as the parade of rocks, the proclamation, the fireworks, the procession, the enclosures or the concerts.
Along with the deployment of local police, which in the most important days will involve around 80-85 percent of its staff, the National Police Force will launch a specific operation for the Patron Saint Festivities, led by the provincial police station of Fuenlabrada. Members and volunteers of the Civil Protection Group will also collaborate.
This is intended to ensure the normal development of the programmed activities and that they affect as little as possible the normal flow of traffic and the activity of the city. After its inauguration last year, this will be helped by the location of a large part of the activities in the new exhibition centre, which has a video surveillance system, the use of drones and a Coordination Centre in the facility itself.
The security situation
The meeting was co-chaired by the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of the town, Francisco Javier Ayala Ortega. It was attended by members of the Government team, the National Police, the Local Police and the Community of Madrid.
During the same, the security situation of the municipality has been reviewed, which in 2025 recorded “extraordinary” results, in the words of the government delegate, remaining at the top of the ranking of cities of 100,000 safer inhabitants of Spain.
In this regard, it has reiterated its commitment and that of the Government of Spain to continue on that path, as demonstrated by the increase in the National Police staff at the local police station that has been possible thanks to the reinforcement of 400 national police that the Community of Madrid has experienced since 2018, until reaching historic highs.
It has also sent a request to the City of Fuenlabrada to count on its collaboration in the implementation of the measures and recommendations included in the Plan of Action against sexual violence in the Community of Madrid 2026-2027 of the Government Delegation in Madrid, given the commitment demonstrated by this Consistory in that fight and its integration into the VioGén system of monitoring and protection of victims of gender violence.
On the other hand, in view of the eclipse of August 12, it has transferred the importance of making a forecast of places where citizens can go to see it, to avoid crowds and taking into account that the risk of fires on those dates can be very high.
