Transportes advances with the repair works of the slopes of the A-6 and N-6

From the next Monday and during the months of July and August

  • Lane cuts will occur on the A-6 between July 6 and August 28 and the entire N-6 driveway between July 13 and 24.
  • The actions are included in emergency works for which an initial credit of 1.6 million euros has been granted.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is making progress with the emergency works to repair the damage to various slopes and walls on the A-6, N-6 and Cuelgamuros Valley roads with a credit of 1,567,418.83 € (VAT included). Specifically, the following actions are being developed, two of which have already been completed:

  • Slope of km 30.4 of the A-6 motorway.
  • Slope of km 44.7 of the N-6 road.
  • Slope and wall of km 45,7 of the road N-6 (finished).
  • Talud del km 6,2 de la carretera del Valle de Cuelgamuros (finalizada).

Due to this, it will be necessary to make a series of affectations to the traffic on the A-6 and the N-6:

  • From Monday, July 6 to Friday, August 28, the right lane (outer lane, with Madrid direction) will be cut off from the A-6; between km 30 and 30.8. Currently, the existing 4 lanes are already slightly offset towards the interior of the road and slightly reduced in width.
  • From Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 24, both lanes (complete driveway) of the N-6 will be cut between km 44.5 to 44.9, with alternative detours duly signposted.

Timely cuts may occur in the exits or entrances that connect to both roads.

For the duration of the work, maximum caution and attention is requested to the signage of works, together with strict compliance with the recommendations of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), visible on its luminous signs of variable signage.

Detailed information on the traffic situation on the affected roads can be obtained in a timely manner, both in the radio bulletins and on the DGT website.

The aforementioned planning may be altered in case of adverse weather conditions.

Recently, the Council of Ministers has authorized the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to tender an investment of 60.76 million euros (VAT not included) for the conservation and operation of 60.25 kilometers of the State Road Network (RCE) in the Community of Madrid with the objective of preserving different sections over more than 50 km. The actions in the Community of Madrid generate a significant impulse to improve the quality of service of the existing state road infrastructure.
