- The Subdelegate of the Government to the Community of Madrid has visited the information and management point of the Delegation in charge of advising the affected neighbors.
- It is the first visit to offer direct assistance on the ground to the municipalities of the Sierra Oeste affected by the fire.
The program “La Administración cerca de ti” (LACT) has completed today in Chapinería its first day of face-to-face care to speed up the processing of state aid in the municipalities of Madrid affected by the forest fires of the Sierra Oeste.
For this reason, the subdelegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, has moved to the municipality of Madrid where she has been received by its mayor, Lucía Moya Domínguez, with whom she has had the opportunity to share the situation and needs of the neighbors after the emergency. Both have visited the information and management point of the Delegation authorized in the City Council to advise the victims.
Lines of help
The staff of the Delegation has provided information on the requirements, models and documentation that must be provided to access the lines of aid that are already in progress (General regime of aid for emergencies and catastrophes established in Royal Decree 307/2005, of 18 March).
The mechanisms established include subsidies aimed at:
- Family or economic living units that have suffered material damage to their habitual housing or their basic necessities.
- Local corporations, to meet the emergency expenses incurred.
- Comunidades de Propietarios, en régimen de propiedad horizontal, para daños que afecten a elementos de uso común.
- Holders of commercial, industrial or service establishments, duly registered for tax purposes and with a number of employees equal to or less than 50.
With regard to the time limits, it has been stressed that the interested parties have one month to submit applications, starting from the day after the end of the event causing the emergency situation. In this case, the deadline for submitting applications is until September 5, 2026.
In this way, one of the commitments made last Thursday by the government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martin Aguirre, is activated in the meeting held with the mayors of the affected localities. Martín Aguirre said that institutional attention on the ground would be strengthened to ensure that state funds that are “already in place” are managed as quickly as possible.
Attention to the citizen through “The Administration near you”
The LACT program is a service of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, in charge of the Government Delegations and Subdelegations and the Island Directorates. Since its launch in 2022, it brings the services of the General State Administration (AGE) closer to citizens residing in municipalities that do not have physical headquarters of the AGE.
On the occasion of the emergency caused by the fires, the Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid makes this program available to the affected municipalities to attend to their neighbors in the efforts in which they can be useful. In this regard, they have agreed to maintain contact so that the councilors contact their neighbors to detect what needs are most pressing and thus be able to arrange visits soon.
After the visit today in Chapinería, the Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid will visit next Thursday Fresnedillas de la Oliva.
