The City Council of Cercedilla has held today a Local Security Board to coordinate the necessary security measures for the summer, period in which the municipality triples its usual number of inhabitants.
This fluctuation has been one of the points addressed in the session co-chaired by the subdelegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the mayor of the municipality, David José Martín Molpeceres. Representatives of the team of the Municipal Government, the Community of Madrid, the Civil Guard, the Local Police and Civil Protection have participated.
In order to cope with the increase in population, the municipality will have a reinforcement of Civil Guard troops that, in addition, plans the next incorporation of new agents to the position of the locality. In coordination with the Local Police, Civil Protection and the services involved will deploy the necessary seasonal measures to guarantee the safety of residents and holidaymakers.
In this line, some issues derived from the high summer occupation have been analyzed, such as the increase in traffic, mobility difficulties and greater environmental pressure on the natural environment of Las Dehesas.
They have also specifically addressed forest fire prevention and possible operational challenges in the face of the next solar eclipse in August. Finally, the foundations of the device have been established for the Patron Saint’s Festivities of September, a plan that will be finalized in a specific Local Security Board.
Incorporation to VioGén
At the end of the meeting, the deputy delegate has had the opportunity to congratulate the council for its incorporation into the Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence, VioGén, last April, shows its commitment in the fight against gender violence.
