The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, delivered this morning 31 and 42 cards of “cyberexperts”, respectively, to the students of 6th grade of primary school of the Sacred Heart and Albeiros schools of Lugo, in acts that were also attended by the trainers of the National Police, Rubén Darío Veiga and Iván García. The subdelegate highlighted the government’s commitment to digital training in classrooms to prevent any type of harassment or violence through the new platforms.
In the acts of delivery of the cards, he congratulated all the students for their interest in this learning, as well as the trainers of the National Police “for their work in the training of the schoolchildren”. The assistant delegate also had words for the management team, from whom she thanked “their receptiveness when it comes to the students being able to receive this information”.
“The digital security of children and youth is a collective challenge, and the Government of Spain is committed to training new generations in the safe use of the Internet and social networks,” he said.
The agents worked with schoolchildren on issues such as safe navigation, online and offline privacy management, responsible use of social media, and risk prevention of Relationship, Information, and Communication Technologies (TRIC).
During 2026, the National Police plans to deliver up to 700 “cyber expert” cards in the city of Lugo. “This program demonstrates that prevention and training are the best tools to protect children in the digital environment,” concluded the deputy delegate.
