- This action is in addition to others under way, worth 659 million euros from European funds, to modernize more than 80 tunnels, enhance the protection of fauna and vulnerable users, and promote sustainability, energy efficiency and action against noise in the State Road Network.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, visited the works today improvement of the upper pass located at kilometre 38.6 of the A-6, at the end municipal of Collado Villalba. This action has a current budget of 832,803 euros and is financed from European funds within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The intervention, executed by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, consists of the execution of an accessible itinerary for pedestrians to the different establishments and homes located on the northern service road (Coruña sense), both from the urban center of Collado Villalba (Avenida de Honorio Lozano) and from the southern service road (Madrid sense).
This work is very necessary for Collado Villalba and responds to a real need for daily mobility of the residents of the town. It is the demonstration of the “total commitment” of the Government of Spain to the region in terms of infrastructures of its competence.
This performance, which the delegate of the Government has visited together with the head of the Road Demarcation of Madrid, Gloria Ramos; the councillor of works of the City Council of the town, Ramón Pavón, and those responsible for the work, is added to others by total value of About 40 million euros in the environment of the A-6 that the Government of Spain is investing “in favor of the security, mobility and comfort of the neighbors of Collado Villalba and other municipalities such as Torrelodones or Las Rozas”.
The forecast is that this work, financed with European funds, will be completed by the month of June.
Description of the works
· Extension of the sidewalk on the Madrid side throughout the road that connects Honorio Lozano Avenue with the northern service road.
· Implementation of a new semi-fortified pedestrian crossing in the road that connects Honorio Lozano Avenue with the northern service road, at the height of the landing of the pedestrian ramp coming from the southern service road.
· Lighting installation in the road that connects Honorio Lozano Avenue with the northern service road.
· New containment systems.
· Improvement of lighting. Relocation of the existing pedestrian crossing at km 38,565 of the northern service road to the height of km 38,600, with creation of a physical island of refuge, coinciding with a cebreated area.
