The State's Local Economic Cooperation is regulated, essentially, in Royal Decree 835/2003, of 27 June, which regulates the State's economic cooperation to investments of local entities (modified by Royal Decree 1263/2005, of 21 October) as well as in Order APU/293/2006, of 31 January, of its development and application. These rules establish various lines of cooperation, such as the contribution to the investments included in the Provincial and island cooperation plans to works and services of municipal competence .
On the other hand, various laws of General State Budgets or other general provisions have established additional lines of economic cooperation of the State with the entities that make up the Local Administration.
