- The current pavement will be improved, allowing its useful life to be extended and guaranteeing adequate circulation and safety conditions.
- The action is included within the conservation and maintenance program of the State Road Network, in which the Ministry of Transport has invested more than 761.24 million euros since June 2018, in the province of Madrid.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 15.4 million euros (VAT included) for the Works of rehabilitation of the firm of the two roads of the A-5 motorway, between kilometers 10 and 36.7, as it passes through the municipalities of Alcorcón, Móstoles and Navalcarnero, in the Community of Madrid.
This action is intended to optimize the condition of the existing pavement in this stretch of 26.7 kilometers, reinforcing its structural and surface characteristics and prolonging the useful life of the road. This action will result in more suitable conditions of movement and a higher level of safety for users.
In particular, structural rehabilitation is planned in the most deteriorated areas and an improvement in surface characteristics (or surface rehabilitation) throughout the entire stretch of operation. The structural rehabilitation will consist of milling the damaged layers and their subsequent replacement with hot bituminous mixture, applied in layers of thicknesses between 7 and 15 cm applied successively until the total milling thickness is reached.
In addition, there will be an improvement in the surface characteristics of the entire trunk, side roads, links and structure boards:
- On the trunk and service roads, a 3 cm regrowth will be carried out on the entire width of the surface of the firm (incl. sides) with bituminous hot mixture. This action will be carried out in a total length of 53,344 m on the trunk and in 16,270 m on the service roads, on both roads and throughout the entire stretch of action. The total renovated area of the project amounts to 693,268 m2 on main roads of Tronco and at 185.769 m2 on the way to service.
- As for the links, the action will consist of the renewal of the existing tread layer by a 5 cm milling replacement with hot bituminous mixture.
- In the case of the boards of the structures a milling of 3 cm and subsequent replacement will be carried out.
It will also carry out the replacement of the horizontal signaling, beaconing, containment systems together of dilatation of the structures and stations of aphore.
