- It includes the improvement and expansion of the side roads and the interconnection of the motorway with municipal roads and with the industrial estates of Los Molinos and San Marcos.
- It will substantially improve the operating conditions of the A-4 and the quality of public passenger transport services, reducing journey times and ensuring greater regularity.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 40.7 million euros (VAT included) for the contract of works to improve the accessibility of public transport on the Autovía del Sur A-4, in the municipality of Getafe (Community of Madrid). It will intervene between the industrial estates of Los Molinos and San Marcos, from kilometer 12 of the A-4 to the Avda. Leonardo da Vinci (15.2 km upper pass of the A-4),
The aim of the action is to substantially improve the operating conditions of the A-4 and the quality of public passenger transport services, reducing journey times and ensuring greater regularity.
The main actions to be carried out are:
On the right side of the A-4, in the direction of Andalusia:
- Lateral track of one, two or three lanes, according to the sections, between the kilometers 12,35 and 13,75.
- Roundabout with a lane from the side road, in order to facilitate access to the polygon of San Marcos.
- Transformation of the existing link with the M-406 road into a diamond-like link with weights, adding an approximately symmetrical western roundabout to the existing one.
- On the left side of the A-4, in the direction of Madrid:
- Third lane from around 15.35 km to the access area to the facilities of the Los Angeles Hotel and the adjacent service station.
- New branch of incorporation from the existing roundabout (with the M-406) to the lateral track.
Other noteworthy performances:
- Demolition of the pedestrian walkway located at kilometer 13,12, and replacement with a new one that saves with a single vain the main vials.
- Second runway at kilometer 15.03 for the replacement of the footpath of San Marcos, which will also serve the two bus stops located in the area.
- Remodeling of the access from the C/ Eratosthenes to the side road (optimizing the design of the accesses to the Airbus facilities).
- Relocation of two bus stops on each side track so that its position is compatible with the planned performances.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility generates a significant impulse to improve the quality of service of the state road infrastructure in the Community of Madrid. To do this, continue with the Rehabilitation and Replacement between 17 and 55.5 km on the M-50 bypass motorway in Madrid.
