The government’s deputy delegate in Ourense, Eladio Santos, today stressed the government’s commitment to access to public services in rural municipalities. He did so during the inauguration of a new day of the program “The Administration near you”, where he was accompanied by the mayor, Ana Villarino.
During the presentation, Eladio Santos highlighted the importance of strengthening the presence of the administration in the territory, especially in a province characterized by geographical dispersion and aging of the population, such as Ourense. “Bringing resources and procedures closer to the rural environment is essential to face the demographic challenge and strengthen territorial cohesion,” he said.
During the day, staff of the Subdelegation of the Government in Ourense went to the plenary hall of the City of Oi⦅⦆ to inform the citizens individually about the use of electronic administration to carry out different telematic procedures, such as obtaining and using the digital certificate of the National Currency and Stamp Factory (FNMT). The audience also received information on the main public services available in the electronic headquarters of the General Administration of the State, from cadastral information to procedures of the General Directorate of Traffic or the Tax Agency.
The subdelegate explained that “the General Administration of the State currently offers the possibility of carrying out digitally more than 90% of the procedures and communications with its departments, from basic procedures such as benefits, tax payments, personal documentation and accreditations or applications for grants.” “This method facilitates the management of procedures from any part of the territory, without the need to travel a city,” he added.
For all this, Santos urged the local governments of municipalities with less than 8,000 inhabitants to apply for the program “The Administration near you”, of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory.
